I had heard a lot of great things about the Eis Café, especially their Freak Shakes! What’s one of them I hear you say? It’s a mega milkshake which includes ice cream, chocolate bars and entire slices of cakes. They started life in Australia but are gaining popularity in the UK. They are very high in calories and not for the faint hearted.
What’s it like inside?
The café is nicely decorated with lots of interesting quotes and sayings on the walls. It is quite small downstairs but they have extra seating upstairs.
Service and food ordering
You order and pay at the till and they will bring the food over. They don’t take card payments so make sure you have enough cash with you.
The menu has good selection of hot and cold drinks and savory food, but what this place is really about is the selection of gelato ice creams, cakes, milk shakes and of cause the wonderful freak shakes, which they call loco shakes!
We ordered a fudge brownie and roasted marshmallow loco shake (freak shake) and a fudge brownie and roasted marshmallow waffle.
The freak shake was amazing, it was rich and creamy and loved the toasted marshmallow on the top. It is very big so would recommend you share if you are not too hungry. The waffle was nice too but the milkshake was my favorite.
This is a great place to go for an extravagant dessert and would recommend you check it out if you are in the area. I’ve just spotted that they will be launching a new loco shake called Roasted Almond snickers – two words from me ‘I’m there’ 🙂
